{"id":7634,"date":"2016-02-29T22:23:59","date_gmt":"2016-03-01T03:23:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/linaru.com\/en\/?p=7634"},"modified":"2021-11-16T17:08:51","modified_gmt":"2021-11-16T22:08:51","slug":"if-cemeteries-had-no-tombstones","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/linaru.com\/en\/if-cemeteries-had-no-tombstones\/","title":{"rendered":"If Cemeteries Had No Tombstones"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"grid kcm\">\n<div class=\"grid__item nine-twelfths portable--auto lap--auto palm--auto top-no-padding bottom-no-padding center \"><audio preload=\"none\" controls=\"controls\"><source src=\"https:\/\/linaru.com\/audio\/2016\/if-cemeteries-had-no-tombstones.ogg%E2%80%9D%20type=\" audio=\"\" ogg=\"\"><\/source><source src=\"https:\/\/linaru.com\/audio\/2016\/if-cemeteries-had-no-tombstones.mp3%E2%80%9D%20type=\" audio=\"\" mp3=\"\"><\/source><\/audio><\/div>\n<div class=\"grid__item one-whole portable--auto lap--auto palm--auto top-no-padding bottom-no-padding   \">\n<pre>If cemeteries had no tombstones...\r\n\r\nIf poetic pieces were upon \r\ntrees that grow from our lover's ashes, \r\nforests would become sacred again. \r\n\r\nRather than adorning our defunct\r\nwith polymers, flowers that never \r\ndie, burr grass, numbers carved shallow in\r\nstones, we could allow art to heal our \r\nlosses, honor through the poetic,\r\nan expression that is devoured by \r\nnature as it eats hungry our loved.   \r\n\r\nIf we entrust ourselves to nature,\r\nhonour death as a transformation, \r\nblissful expansion, what is, becomes\r\nhistorical, a timeless mentor,\r\nour humble reconciliation \r\nwith the fact that we all need to leave\r\na warm trail worth of a yesterday.\r\n  \r\nIf we entrust ourselves to nature,\r\nour power would tell us to return \r\nthe lilies, the moist breath it gave us \r\nas a favor, even the struggles,  \r\nmismatched flavours, tingling sensations,\r\ndespite fugacity, once planted \r\nactions would bounce, lingering echoes\r\nstretching toward the last horizon \r\nof another, whose sunshine is you. \r\n\r\nIf cemeteries had no tombstones, \r\nour history would stand in stillness, \r\nchirps and tweets would free us from the fear\r\nof death, honoured could we grow to be\r\none of them, sucklings still teaching us\r\nhow to be an unsynced unity \r\nthat at last unites death with life, not\r\nmorbidly, but in a way that heals\r\nthose who hunger for significance\r\nin vastness, seeking to reconcile \r\nthe past with the present, so we can;\r\nthe future can forge a stream amongst \r\nthe boughs that now flow, breathe, grow, love in\r\nways we thought would be impossible:\r\nby endearing nature thoroughly,\r\nreaching sacredness as worn out ash\r\nbecomes the root we've evermore been.\r\n<\/pre>\n<div class=\"important\">The concept of planting trees with our ashes already exists. In fact, there is already a company that offers this kind of service: <a href=\"https:\/\/urnabios.com\/\">Bios Urn<\/a>.
