 \r\nScience must be trusted\r\nas it is doubted, poetry\r\nmust be protected when\r\nthe truth is dimmed by\r\nillusionists. Science must \r\nbe trusted when evidence\r\nmakes it inevitable to say\r\nthat’s a fact. If the denial \r\nof truth elongates beyond \r\nthe walls of a faint idea, \r\nan entrenched psychosis \r\nwill threaten our century.\r\n\r\nThe more I reflect upon\r\nthe fragile nature of mind,\r\nthe more I realize society\r\nis as delicate as my mind. \r\n\r\nThe further we remain \r\nfrom the facts, the deeper\r\nwe’ll fall into the shock \r\nof cognitive dissonance. \r\n\r\nThere’s no tale I can tell \r\nto prevent you from a fall,\r\nif I haven’t seen the pit.\r\n \r\nThe threat is not the fault,\r\nbut the ignorance of a hit.  \r\n\r\nTo begin by not knowing\r\nis necessary, but to deny\r\nwhat’s known is lunacy. \r\n\r\nI don’t want to be a moon\r\nnor be cast as a reflection\r\nif I can prevent a disaster \r\nbefore doubt consumes me. \r\n\r\nThe chaos ensued will define\r\nnot only ourselves, unaware\r\nof how knowledge is built,\r\nchildren will learn to hate\r\nsooner than we can forgive\r\nthe narcissistic who forged \r\na wall of denial and deceit\r\nthat became a histrionic \r\npsychosis, chronic necrosis \r\nwe don’t how to deal with!\r\n \r\nSleep, sleep, find ways to rest \r\nyour worries, your suffering,\r\nbreathe, admire surroundings \r\nnot tainted by angered tears, \r\ncultivate simple habits of joy, \r\nonly then we’ll vanquish fears. \r\n\r\nIf you think you’ll conquer\r\nfear faster than we can heal,\r\nyou are spinning lies to deal\r\nwith shadows projected upon \r\nthe wall of deceit and denial.\r\n\r\nRepeat the false equivalence,\r\nrepetition doesn’t make it true,\r\nonly difference can bring light\r\nto the safe haven of evidence.\r\n\r\nOur ignorance will be pardoned\r\nas long as we grow and marvel,\r\ngive the universe a way to say:\r\n\r\nHow poetic humans truly are!\r\nBe bounded by a pact of love. \r\nGive them the necessary wisdom\r\nto flourish in an earthly haven. \r\n\r\nInstantly, UniversE falls silent.\r\n\r\nHumanity at last has learned that \r\nwe don’t need voices from above\r\nto tell us who we are, awakened\r\nfrom the entrenched psychosis \r\nwe realize how poetic science is. \r\n\r\nIf I allow science to be poetic\r\nand I am poetic as well, we will\r\nbe bounded by a pact of truth\r\nthat will liberate us from the \r\nwall of fear, ignorance, denial \r\nand the pull toward self-deceit.  \r\n \r\nYet I am still afraid but a light \r\nhas been cast upon my frontal lobe,\r\nen-lightenment has taught me none \r\nother than en- isn’t me, only light\r\nas I fall asleep AND reject IT: gone\r\nwith the light! Light is not in here \r\nnor out there. It is by seeing bare,\r\nbare of interest, bare of selfishness,\r\nbare of narcissism, bare of biases, \r\nbare of conflict, bare of callousness,\r\nbare of hatred, bare of distortions, \r\nbare of self-righteous mala leche \r\nuntil eventually, I am bare of fear, \r\nnot because there's no danger here \r\nor there, but because I'm stripped bare\r\nto the point of no return where I realize \r\nI have erred as much as I have breathed. \r\n\r\nIt is then that I am truly victorious\r\nfor my effort, not the money collected,\r\nfor being a constant succession of facts\r\nthat is documented in a vast poetic tract.\r\n\r\nThat's victory! Not a prize! The fearless\r\nredeem their erring, employ their effort,\r\nwhat is the passionate force that leads\r\nyou to the documentation of your past? \r\n      \r\n<\/pre>\n
Note: The prefix en- means “to go inside of”, “to cause a thing to be in”. When we talk about en- lightenment, we are giving light the attribute of being an external thing we have to go into. The word itself hijacks our being light because the word by itself places us outside of light in the first place. My poem wants to disrupt the word en- lightenment by saying: I cannot become enlightened because I have always been lightened by the force of unconditional love: the power to love, create, and accept who I am as I am despite erring as much as I breathe. I have to face the fear within myself and the culture around me toward whatever I sense to be dangerous and erroneous. After facing it, I must accept that the only way out of a psychosis is to adhere to the facts and the scientific evidence because wisdom is the way out of fear. The question is: Will be we able to grow and accept that science is fundamental to our ability to be in the light of knowledge which lessens our fear? If we cannot, a new dark age will fall upon us and we need to collect evidence of what is happening now through your own art which includes the sciences. Science is the art of interpreting facts. Art must become the science of interpreting creativity. How? Science is about facts. Facts have to be collected in notebooks. (See the work of Bruno Latour) Art and science aren’t separated. Document your art. As soon as it becomes an artifact, it is a fact. It can be measured. We can study it as we can study archeology. Science is the documentation and then interpretation of those facts. In science, the documentation won’t change but it can be retested (documented) to prove veracity, but only the interpretation changes through time. Not the facts! We must bridge the sciences and the arts by being scientific in our arts and artistic in our science.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
